Hvaldimir, the Beluga Whale

Imagine you’re on a nice, walk in Norway. You’re enjoying the nature, when suddenly
you come upon an amazing sight. A whale - a Beluga Whale. But as you move closer, it’s not moving - it’s dead. And this isn’t any old beluga whale, it’s Hvaldimir, the Russian Spy whale which you saw in 2019 with a harness strapped around its neck. But how could a perfectly healthy beluga, one so famous, die so quickly? Did someone murder it? There’s no other way it could just randomly die, right?

To find out what happened, have a read of the article below!

A team of researchers and science-minded snorkelers work together to recover a dead oarfish from La Jolla Cove

Oarfish, what many consider to be the seed behind sea-serpent tales from back in the day, are nothing short of alien. This huge bony fish - capable of growing up to 26 ft in length, are rarely seen alive. But when they are seen alive, they’re usually almost dead, and often times, are linked with impending natural disasters. Oarfish are known to have washed up in California only 20 times since 1901

So why was one seen floating in La Jolla Cove? Where did it come from?

Thurman the Hermit Crab

As you all know, the Brofessor was “gifted” a pet hermit crab at a toddlers birthday party
not the best gift for a toddler, yet alone some adults. Anyways, the Brofessor took it as a challenge, and lovingly cared for this shelly crustacean for four months. But as you all know, hermit crabs are actually quite hard to take care of, and they’re not very solitiary creatures, and in the wild, some species are found in groups of 100 or more. But at the end of the day, Thurman needed more space, and more friends. Enter Jett Cox. Jett is an avid brostner and animal enthusiast who we met at AnimalCon this year. Jett offered to be Thurman's new dad, and to add to the fun, he even has a hermit crab buddy named Merman! Jett - take good care of Thurman!

Words from the Brofessor: “When Thurman came to me, he was just a party favor. Confused, buried, and needing care. I did all I could to give him a good home, but he needed more. Today, I'm so happy to see him off to a place where he can truly thrive, with the space and companionship he deserves. Every little creature deserves a chance to flourish.“
